Richard J. Garvey, Jr.
Mr. Garvey is an associate attorney in the Metairie office and has been with the firm since 2012. His practice focuses on insurance defense matters. He has experience in the areas of environmental and toxic tort claims, products liability, class actions, industrial disasters, general property and casualty defense, construction litigation, automobile liability defense, trucking and transportation liability defense, and medical malpractice liability defense. Mr. Garvey has obtained a number of favorable defense verdicts in courts throughout Louisiana. Mr. Garvey is currently focusing on asbestos liability defense litigation.
Admissions and Affiliations
Mr. Garvey was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar Association in 1991. He is admitted to practice in all Louisiana courts, the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Asssociation, Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, and the Defense Research Institute.
